Match report Fast track in Rottenburg
3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-21) at newly promoted TV Rottenburg: Düren open their Bundesliga season in style, and libero Mischa Kosyak is MVP on his debut.

SWD powervolleys Düren collect their first points of the Bundesliga season with a straight-sets 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-21) win at newly promoted TV Rottenburg. Head coach Christophe Achten praised a very mature performance with very few errors. Against an opponent who made more mistakes, that quickly led to clear leads.
Double joy for Mischa Kosyak
Achten used Düren’s superiority to give many players time on court. All new signings made their debut in a Düren shirt, and for seven of them it was also their first Volleyball Bundesliga match. One of them was 17-year-old libero Mischa Kosyak, who holds a dual licence for Düren and VC Olympia Berlin. After libero Troy Gooch was injured on Sunday at the League Cup, he travelled from Berlin at short notice.
In the first set Kosyak still shared the role with Gooch; after that he had the coach’s full trust – and repaid it. The fans voted him most valuable player in his very first Bundesliga match. Achten said Kosyak had shown his great potential straight away. A little later the libero had a second reason to celebrate: his Berlin youth team caused a surprise in its second match of the season with a 3-0 home win over FT Freiburg.
Many successful debuts
The other debuts went well too: setter Robert Viiber and middle blocker Daniel Wetter blocked strongly in the first set, which was decided within minutes – Rottenburg failed to reach ten points. In the second set, 18-year-old Andres Jefanov served two aces for an 11-5 lead that settled it early. Setter Tobias Hosch and outside hitter Paul Nusterer had short spells on court.
Two aces from Omar Hoyos settle it
Omar Hoyos stayed on court longer, and that paid off in the third set. First, Preslav Petkov became the last new signing to score, blocking for 4-1 shortly after coming on. Then Rottenburg grew bolder and levelled at 14-14. In the timeout, Achten told his team to increase the serving pressure. Hoyos did so at once, setting up points with his first two serves: Kosyak dug, Jefanov finished for 16-14 and Viiber blocked for 17-14. Two aces from Hoyos for 19-14 decided the match.
